Nicole Gritis
Nicole grew up watching her Mom do yoga in the ’70s and ’80s. She took her first studio class in 1996 after her first son was born. Two sons later, yoga provided a meditative outlet for her, allowing her to become more grounded and at peace.
In 2005 she went to her first hot power yoga class and was hooked! Her first training was a 200-hour Baptiste Power Yoga training. She then earned her 500-hour certification through Prairie Yoga in Lisle, Illinois. At Prairie there was a strong emphasis on Yoga Therapeutics and the ability to adapt and modify the practice of yoga for students with common conditions such as back, hip, and shoulder issues; depression, cancer, prenatal, seniors, scoliosis and more.
She worked with high school athletes in the Chicago burbs and taught Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative classes. She also taught at a local brewery and at her local humane society raising money by teaching Yoga with Cats. Nicole’s classes are high-energy flows centered around strength and mobility. She has called CO her home since 2019 and loves getting outside to hike, camp, trail run, snowshoe, and garden. Her Mom still practices 2-3 times a week, and is a beautiful reminder to her that yoga IS for everybody at any age.
