The chakras are vortices of energy that receive and distribute life force energy (prana)
throughout the body. When the prana is flowing in and out of the chakras in a balanced state, we function at our most optimal. However, the chakras are often in an imbalanced state which influence our physiological, psychological, or emotional well-being. The practice of yoga influences the flow of prana in the body and in turn, the state of the chakras. In this special class, we will explore yogic practices that direct the flow of prana in and out of the chakras to cultivate balance in the energetic body and promote optimal wellness. The practice will incorporate asana, pranayama, mudra, and mantra that can be modified to meet all levels, from the beginner to the seasoned yoga practitioner. The workshop culminates with a lengthy relaxation and harmonium sound bath.
