I started practicing yoga in Boulder, CO in 2008 when I was a student at CU Boulder. It instantly became the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I did my first 200 hour in 2011 in Boulder and also obtained a yoga sculpt and yin yoga certification. Since leaving Boulder, I have taught in Chicago, Denver, Bozeman, and Phoenix.

After 7 years of full time teaching, I desperately wanted to further my understanding of how movement could be used as a therapeutic modality for healing both the mind and the body. I pursued a doctorate in Occupational Therapy at A.T. Still University in 2018 before returning to my home town, Durango in 2021.

I am constantly amazed by the power of yoga and how the simple process of a moving meditation has an extraordinary ability to help a practitioner become the person they were always meant to be. To me, yoga is indistinguishable from magic, and that’s why I continue to practice and teach.

The Sweaty Buddha community is so warm and welcoming, and most importantly, so accepting of every student who walks in the door. The teachers hold space for everyone to show up exactly as they are. I feel so fortunate to have found such a stellar community!

When I’m not practicing yoga, I am spending time outdoors. I’m an avid biker (mountain and road), hiker, and skier. I also love fly fishing with my husband and our dog, Boone. I recently started writing and publishing children’s books which is a newfound love.
